A home-based educational child development and parent enhancement program to support and encourage new and expectant parents. The agency also provides a “Welcome Baby” visit for new babies and their parents who live in Hancock County. Referrals come through doctors’ offices, hospital birthing centers, Women, Infants and Children’s nutrition program, or parents can self-refer. The “Welcome Baby” visit provides a one-time home visit that can be scheduled prior to the birth or until the baby is 75 days old. A small gift bag and handmade baby blanket is given to each family. Information on other community services of interest to parents is also available.
